Beyond Fiction : Interracial Antebellum Romance Novels [1962 - 1988]
I came across this alternate-universe romance genre in 2008. The books are now long out of print.
Interestingly, Richard Tresillian [author of the Bondmaster series] was the pseudonym of the English poet Royston Ellis. Ellis [d. 2023] was a figure in the British literary and music scene who befriended The Beatles in 1960. Their song “Paperback Writer” is based on a conversation Ellis had had with them in 1961.
